We mourn the loss of Terrance Clarke, a beloved, longstanding member of our family. “Terry” as he was affectionately known, was with us almost from inception and our hearts are heavy, for we have lost a peaceful, loving, cheerful, dedicated and committed soul.

During his almost 20 years as a member of the Preconco family, Terry built a reputation as a well-respected Supervisor. He was an outstanding professional whose pleasant personality always brought a sense of joy to those around him. So much so, that to many of his colleagues he was a best friend, brother, or father figure. He was deeply rooted into the Preconco culture and was a significant contributor to our growth and achievements over the years.

We are ever mindful of the risks involved in what we do and always take care to provide and maintain for the welfare of all staff, a work environment that is, as far as is reasonably practicable, safe and without risks to health. We have in place very stringent Health and Safety (H&S) procedures, which are managed by a H&S committee and trained health and safety officers. None of this could, however, have prepared us for this devastating and tragic occurrence, which has left a painful and unforgettable blotch on our hitherto unblemished record.

We continue to gather details of what happened and commit to doing everything that is reasonably practicable to ensure that an incident of this nature does not happen again.

A further statement will be issued following a full investigation, which is currently being conducted.

To Terry’s family and friends, we extend our heartfelt condolences. There are no words to express our grief or how much he will be missed by all of us.

His time with us was cut short and although we will no longer be able to experience the joy of his presence, his memory will live on and he will forever be a part of our team.

Everyone in the Preconco family has been deeply touched by this tragedy and Management has committed resources to the counselling and healing process for our staff and the family members of the injured and deceased. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we pray for the strength to grieve in this difficult time.

With the demand for affordable housing increasing, the sustainability and strength of precast concrete came to the fore and we were contracted to manufacture and install product for this project. This multi-storey, low-income housing solution consists of two precast concrete superstructures, each six stories high with six apartments per level.
